The UCSF PD Center is a proud member of the National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) and one of its designated Centers of Excellence. We want to make sure that you know about two upcoming Moving Day® inaugural events that the NPF is putting on in April, which is also National Parkinson’s Awareness Month.
Moving Day® is a fun and inspiring
fundraising event that will unite families, friends and communities in the
fight against Parkinson’s disease. It involves a day of sponsored team walks, exercise
and movement demonstrations tailored for people with PD as well as health education
and outreach opportunities for the Parkinson’s community. You can

REGISTER TODAY! More than just a walk, Moving Day® highlights “movement” and exercise
as a symbol of hope and progress because of its essential role in treating
Parkinson’s disease. The UCSF PD Center will be fielding a team
and we hope that you will consider starting your own team and joining us for a
day of movement, education, exercise and fun to raise awareness about
Parkinson’s.

Moving
Day® will feature a unique Movement Pavilion, with stations for
activities such as yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery, LSVT
Big, boxing, and dance — all proven to help manage the symptoms of Parkinson’s
disease. Moving Day® will also feature a Resource Pavilion, which
will include local paramedical personnel such as nurses, physical therapists,
social workers, and other community resources for patients and
caregivers. Included in the festivities are family-friendly walk routes
of 1, 2 or 3 miles, a kids’ area, music, entertainment and much more.
